Learn AI 15 minutes every week…
Something shifted this weekend that most people will take weeks to notice. The company everyone assumed was in second place just quietly moved into first. Anthropic passed OpenAI in revenue. Not by a little. By $5 billion in annual run rate. And they did it while spending 4x less on training.
That changes the entire conversation about who is winning and what "winning" even means. I'll break it down below.

Anthropic just passed OpenAI. And they spent 4x less doing it.

Picture this. You are running a company. You spend $125 billion a year on training AI models. Your competitor spends $30 billion and just beat you in revenue. That is the story of OpenAI and Anthropic right now.
Anthropic hit $30 billion in annual revenue run rate this month. OpenAI is at $25 billion. Four months ago, Anthropic was at $9 billion. That means they more than tripled revenue in a single quarter.
Here is what makes it wild. Over 1,000 enterprise customers now spend more than $1 million per year on Claude. That number was 500 in February. It doubled in two months.
And the money math is brutal. OpenAI projects $14 billion in losses for 2026 and pushed its breakeven target to 2030. Anthropic projects positive free cash flow by 2027.
Everyone said OpenAI was untouchable. The numbers say otherwise.
What this means for you: The company making the model you probably use daily is now the revenue leader. Enterprise customers are choosing Claude over ChatGPT at an accelerating rate. If you have been defaulting to ChatGPT out of habit, this is the week to seriously test Claude for your actual workflows.

OpenAI wants regular people to buy IPO shares. Here is why that matters.

OpenAI's CFO Sarah Friar confirmed this week that the company will reserve a portion of its upcoming IPO shares for everyday retail investors. Not just hedge funds. Not just VCs. You.
Here is the context. In their last private funding round, OpenAI expected $1 billion from individual investors. They got $3 billion instead. The banks handling it called it the largest private placement they had ever conducted.
The IPO filing is expected in the second half of 2026. Current post-money valuation is $852 billion. The target at IPO? Roughly $1 trillion.
Friar put it plainly: "AI needs to garner trust. It has to be that everyone partakes, not just a very small group."
What this means for you: This is the first time a major AI company has publicly committed to letting regular people in at the same price as institutional investors. Whether you invest or not, this signals that OpenAI sees its future tied to public trust. That changes how they build products and who they build them for.
Visa just gave AI agents a credit card. Here is what to do about it.

Attention all 1 billion Visa cardholders in 200+ countries. This part is real.
Visa launched Intelligent Commerce Connect, a platform that lets AI agents browse products, select items, and complete purchases on your behalf using your Visa card. End to end. Without you clicking a single button.
You describe what you need. The agent shops. Compares prices. Buys it. Visa built authentication and spending controls in so you set hard limits on what agents can spend.
This follows Google Search's agentic restaurant booking feature expanding to 8 new countries last week. The trend is clear. AI agents are moving from "they can write your emails" to "they can spend your money."
This is not someday. This is this quarter.
What this means for you: If your job involves procurement, purchasing, or expense management, this changes your workflow before summer. The people who set up agent spending controls early will save hours. The people who ignore it will scramble later.
🛠 On my radar this week
Three things I am watching that could become bigger stories:
Shopify launched an AI Toolkit that lets Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex build entire Shopify stores through the API. If you sell anything online, this collapses the build time from weeks to hours. I spent the weekend testing it and I'll share results tomorrow.
Anthropic released Claude for Word (beta). AI-native drafting and editing inside Microsoft Word with tracked changes support. Team and Enterprise plans first. This is the doc workflow upgrade people have been asking for.
Q1 2026 venture funding hit $300 billion globally. That is a record. Driven almost entirely by AI. The money is not slowing down. If anything it is speeding up.

Your 2 moves this week:
Run an AI audit on your own job. Paste this into Claude or ChatGPT: "I'm a [your role] at a [company type]. List the 5 tasks I probably spend the most time on each week. For each one, tell me: can AI do this today (yes/partial/no), which tool does it best, and how many minutes it saves per week. Be specific."
Build a 5-day automation plan. Follow up with: "Based on that list, build me a 5-day plan where I automate one task per day this week. Start with the easiest win on Monday. Include the exact tool and setup steps for each day."
🔧 Tools from today:
→ Claude — claude.ai (test it against your usual AI this week)
→ Lindy.ai — build AI agents that work your inbox, phone, and tasks ($8/mo)
→ Shopify AI Toolkit — let AI agents build your online store (more tomorrow)
